Have you ever built a website using AI?
In terms of graphics and structure, it works a treat, it's so much easier.
But for the copy?
It sucks.
It takes ages to get to the point.
It always writes long paragraphs to describe “our mission”.
And it always starts with: “At <company name> we value…”
The purpose of a website should be to describe what service you offer, concise and clear.
All it should be is: a header, a concise description of what you offer and a CTA (call to action).
If we lose ourselves in infinite word loops, it doesn’t actually add value to the website, on the contrary.
Probably only 1% of the people who visit your website will read everything.
The rest 99% will just want to get to the point.
A website should guide the customer to an easy CTA, basically tell them what to do next.
Think about it:
You go to the store and you ask someone from the staff where you can find toothpaste.
All of a sudden this guy starts to explain how toothpaste was initially invented, by whom and why.
Giving you a half an hour speech.
I mean, you just wanted the toothpaste!
Do you still feel like browsing in the store after that?
I don’t think so.
You just want to get what you want, go to the register, pay and leave.
Simple.
Your website should be exactly the same.
Whoever is looking at your website should be guided toward the CTA, and if they want to know more, they will contact you.
What to do?
While everyone is focus on writing poems in their website, you should focus on a simple structure, that helps the customer understand two simple things:
What you offer.
How they can reach out to you.
More pages or more words don’t convert into more clients.
Keep it simple and easy to read. That’s how you engage more efficiently with new clients.
So now that you are one step ahead of everyone else, we can focus on converting more clients.
And I can guarantee you that you will see the difference.
